To see faith and hope that the people have; because in my life I need hope.
To strengthen my relationship with God and to create lasting relationships with the people of Ocean View.
I wanted to be in a new place mentally and spiritually.
To build up my faith in God and make it stronger.
To reinforce the idea of neighbor, love my neighbor as myself.
To help as much as I possibly could, by doing as much as I could, the best I could.
To work as God’s hands.
To love the peole of South Africa.
To do good things in Ocean View.
To find my passion for helping people.
For God to open my mind and heart to see the world outside of AK.
To realize that I am here on Earth to serve the Lord, a reminder that no matter where I go, or what I do, I will always be serving, and one day South Africa will be my home. Remember that God is good, all the time.
Relationships past and future.
The Ocean View boys, my son, my niece and St. John youth.
To give me a chance to stop, breathe and reflect and also to inspire me to do more for brothers and sisters in remote villages of Alaska.
To make a difference, to better myself and those around me.
To learn to connect with God in a different way.
To serve others and connect with the children again from previous visits to South Africa.
To heal and grow my relationship with God.
To realize that there is so much more than the world. I need to get out more and be open to getting out of my comfort zone and think of others more.
The desire to see how our neighbors live and make do, to see how lucky I am in my life, to see how much God has helped these people in their lives.
To reconnect with my faith family.
To learn more about myself.
To center myself and prepare my life moving forward.
To see what it is like to barely have enough as opposed to always wanting more
To work hard, do good and love my neighbor.
To realize the beauty and good.
