F.I.S.H. Pantry Needs Your Help
The FISH pantry has a vital need for Callers and Food Bank Shoppers. Training is provided.
- A Caller works from home from 8 to noon, listening to voice messages from families needing food that day, and calling back with specific questions to establish a list of 20 recipients for the day. The information is relayed to the Packer, and the Caller remains available for possible follow-up questions until the food is delivered.
- A Food Bank Shopper signs up for a weekday morning appointment at the Food Bank, picks up food there and delivers food to the FISH pantry. Bulk items (rice, oatmeal, powdered milk) need to be repackaged into smaller quantities, possibly with help from other volunteers. Shoppers pay and are reimbursed, or ask for an advance and then turn in receipts.
