Info from new coordinator of the Meal Train at St. John

Your church family is there for you always, but especially in times of need. This team organizes meal trains as needed, such as after a death, when coping with a medical issue family crisis, or birth or addition of a child. We are always looking for volunteer cooks! You can volunteer as little or as much as you'd like! If this is a way you'd like to serve, please contact us at  or 344-3025 for more information.

My name is Doris VonTish and I have accepted the privilege of being the coordinator for the Meal Train. What is the Meal Train? When life throws curve balls, providing a meal is a great way for your friends to help you out. Providing a meal does not always mean delivering a ready-to-eat meal.  Other options include pizza delivery (even ready to bake pizza), ready to cook casserole, or something for the freezer for a later date.

As an alternative to cooking,  I am looking for volunteers to pick up meals at the Wednesday night supper and deliver to the recipient family. This is a great opportunity for those of you who would like to help but rather not cook a meal.

If you would like to be added to the meal train email list or have any questions, please feel free to let me know via email (vonti@alaska.net), or fill out the attached form:

Thank you for considering to be a part of this ministry at St. John.
