We all pray . . . some. We pray to stay sober, centered, or solvent. When the lump is deemed malignant. When the money runs out. When the marriage is falling apart. But wouldn't we like to pray . . . more? Better? Stronger? With more fire, faith, and fervency?
In this four-session video-based study (DVD/digital video sold separately), bestselling author Max Lucado reveals his struggles with prayer and how he discovered that it is not a privilege for the pious or the art of a chosen few but a simple tool everyone has been given to have a conversation with God. He shows you how to let go of uncertainties about prayer, trust that God hears you, and embrace a prayer life that brings peace and rest.
A book on prayer?
Wait, do I really need to read another book on prayer?
A resounding YES!
And not just any book on prayer, but Max Lucado’s newest book, Before Amen: The Power of a Simple Prayer.

I am SO thrilled to be a part of Monday Morning Women again this year. When I first joined this insightful, thoughtful, unique group of women on Monday mornings I'll admit I was a bit hesitant about what I was getting myself into. I let doubt creep in. I was worried as one of the few participants who had not been a part of the group for decades, I'd be the only open minded opinion in the group - but what I quickly realized is that doubt was actually my own closed mind. I let God - by way of this dynamic group of women - open my mind to their diverse and caring opinions on faith, life, the Bible, the church, God and God's children. I can honestly say that I have learned more from this group than any other church group I've participated in (and as a life long Methodist, that's a lot!) and I am beyond grateful God didn't allow my initial narrow mindedness to get in the way of that. I think my favorite part of this group is the inter-generational aspect - we have so much to learn from each other, if we choose to engage. I very often found myself sitting and just intently listening; which for those of you who know me, you know is listening with intent is going to be a life long practice for me. (That's my nice way of saying that more often that not, I'm the one yammering on rather than listening!) I really hope if you're a woman who has Monday mornings free that you'll consider joining us this fall. We kick off with a brunch on September 11th (and let me tell you, these ladies know how to COOK!) and childcare is available with the incredible Ms. Susie for $3/child. Please join us!
