Mark grew up in Seward, Alaska, the son of Pastor Duane and Karen Chase who served at Seward UMC. Aimie was raised in Katy, Texas, moving to Anchorage during high school.
In 2007, God gave Mark and Aimie a first glimpse of their future spouse. Mark, a deckhand on a Kenai Fjord Tour boat, and Aimie, a passenger, struck a chord with one another, resonating over common interests including music, puns, Math, and a love of the Lord. But It wasn't until 2013 their paths crossed again.
In 2013, Mark was hard at work on alternative rock album, "Honesty in a Box" (available on iTunes) with his band Burning Bush. Through feedback on drafts of the album, Mark and Aimie reconnected.
Last December, they triple-tied the knot with the help of three pastors including Mark's father, Aimie's grandfather and current Seward UMC pastor, Jim Doepken. God's timing is perfect.
Music continues to be an important and ongoing part of Mark and Aimie's life. Previously, Mark and Aimie led contemporary worship together at Seward UMC. They are eager and grateful for the opportunity to serve at St. John.
Both Mark and Aimie share an avid love of the outdoors, cooking, and the ocean. They are always on the lookout for new recipes and new hikes. In their spare time, Mark and Aimie can be found gallivanting through the Alaskan wilderness pretending to be Kristoff and Anna from the film Frozen.
