Peace with Justice Sunday is June 16th. We give so that all God’s children have adequate access to homes, jobs, food, clean water, health care, education and more. Just one dollar will make a huge difference. This year’s Equality Parade will begin at 11 a.m. on Sat, June 29 in Downtown Anchorage. Come out and help show your Pride by cheering or marching in support of St. John LGBTQ+ Outreach team.

Join us for a fun family weekend of camping and camaraderie. July 12th-14th at Trail River Group Campground in Moose Pass. We will do a group potluck on the 13th so bring a dish to share. Join us as we help at the track events for State Special Olympics! This is a very fun day of volunteering with athletes who are fun and happy and will fill your soul! We will be at Dimond High School track, and will assist with timing & recording! I need to turn in names this week, so please let me know that you can volunteer with us as soon as you can! This is for youth, their friends and parents as well.
Older in years… Younger in spirit! Join other seniors for great conversation and food at St. John on the third Tuesday of each month at noon in the Fellowship Hall. Young At Heart Lunch Bunch is also looking for some volunteers that would like to lend a hand in the cooking and cleaning. Join us for the Jesus Garden Kick Off! We will plant peas, cabbage, cauliflower and onions in the garden. Plant potatoes in buckets for the potato nannies (see the sign up sheets in the triangle room). Lunch will be served to those who are staying to help plant after the 11:30 service gets out. There will also be cake to dig into after getting dirty !
Anchorage’s Bike to Work Day is Friday, May 17th and St. John will host a snack station from 6am to 9am for bicycle commuters on the corner of Lake Otis and O’Malley. Join us to give out snacks and share God’s love with our community! Talk to Pastor Emily for more information or to sign-up.
Creek Cleanup & BBQ! Join the Earth Stewards in tending to God’s creation. We will clean up Campbell Creek on Saturday, May 11th. Meet us in the GCI parking lot on the corner of Dimond and Victor at 9:30am with your rubber boots and gloves and we will get to work. Then join us that evening at 4:00pm for a BBQ with the pastors at Pastor Emily’s house!

Informational Meeting for South Africa Mission Trip. Sunday, May 5th at 10:45 a.m. in the Sr. High youth room. There is a conversation starting about a Mission Trip to South Africa in March of 2020. As a family begin thinking about this opportunity and experience. It will coincide with part of ASD Spring Break, and we are encouraging youth and their parents to be a part of this team. We'll have an interest meeting in the next few weeks.

Celebrate the last night of Biblemania and Youth Group with Carnival Night on Wed. May 1st from 6-8pm on the East lawn. Bouncy houses, chalk, popcorn, face painting, and more!! K-5th graders are welcome from 6-7pm, 6th graders are invited to stay to preview youth group until 8pm. If your younger child would like to participate in carnival night past 7pm, they are welcome with a parent/guardian!

Service Project: Jesus Garden: May 1st 6:30 p.m. Come get your hands dirty in the Jesus Garden. We will be getting the Jesus Garden ready to start growing food by weeding, tilling the soil, and starting seeds. We donate all the food that is grown to the local soup kitchen to help build up their fresh produce stock. So grab your gardening gloves and come and dig in!
Available in the Life Center (gym) from 5:15 - 6:00 p.m. A great team of servants prepare a delicious meal. This ministry has grown from 20-30 people to about 250 people fed each week throughout the school year! Suggested donation $6/person or $24/family (or you can buy a punchcard with 10 meals for $60. April 24th Service Project: Independence Park Clean Up: The Earth Stewards team will be leading us outside to clean up trash along the road in the Independence Park
Neighborhood. Join us for this outreach and mission project at 6:30pm. Bring gloves and outdoor gear. We will provide the trash bags and be back at the church by 7:30pm.
